World Record Announcement

It must be truly enjoyable to spend an entire day riding a unicycle — because 2025 has clearly become the year of 24-hour records. Earlier in January and June, we witnessed Ken Looi and Lisanne Boer push the limits of single-wheel endurance. Their achievements were remarkable, but their reign at the top was short-lived.

We are now pleased to announce the new 24 Hour Unlimited IUF World Record holders:

  • Female: Lena Freimuth (Germany) — 424.414 km
  • Male: Timo Hirschmann (Germany) — 526.807 km

Both athletes completed their record attempts at the Leichtathletik-Anlage des Badria Sportplatzes Wasserburg in Wasserburg, Germany, during the 24-hour period from 29 to 30 August 2025. Their performances have been fully reviewed in accordance with IUF record standards and are now officially recognized.

It is rare for two competitors to set an equal world record at the same sporting event. At the Summer EUC 2025 in Miskolc, Hungary, Roos Seegers (Netherlands) and Evelyn Rohn (Austria) both set a new World Record in the Long Jump on Platform, with a distance of 180 cm.

The IUF World Record Committee has confirmed their performances as an official IUF World Record, in full compliance with the current IUF Rulebook and the WRG.

Since both athletes achieved the same result at the competition, the World Record Committee recognizes them as joint World Record holders, with equal standing.

Not long ago, we announced an IUF World Record in the Long Jump on Platform. Today, we are pleased to share that the record holder, Johannes Baumkirchner (Austria), has improved his achievement by an additional 7 cm. The current record now stands at 252 cm.

The record jump was performed at Summer EUC 2025 in Miskolc, Hungary.

Two IUF World Records at single ride!

We are pleased to announce two new IUF World Records set by Lisanne Boer from Netherlands.

On June 20–21, 2025, at the RDW Testcentrum in Lelystad, Netherlands, Lisanne set following records:

🏆 24 Hour Unlimited World Record – 412.147 km
🏆 100 Mile Unlimited World Record – 7h35min4sec

Lisanne was riding Ungeared 36” unicycle with 100 mm cranks.

In June the IUF World Record Committee has approved two World Records on Time Trial 100km Unlimited category.

The first WR was perforemed by Aurélien Paulmier (France) at stade Pont Marais Georges Fatome, in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin on April 27th 2025. Aurélien rode 100km distance with the time of 3h35min56s. His unicycle was geared 29”with 117 mm cranks.

Aurélien’s record was quickly superseded by Simon JAN (France).

Simon has not allowed Aurelien’s to celebrate for long. Just three weeks later, on May 18th 2025, at Vélodrome Lande de Reine, in Pleslin-Trigavou, France, Simon covered the same distance with the time of 3h06min29s. Simon’s unicycle setup was geared 36” with 145 mm cranks.

We are pleased to announce the IUF World Record on Time Trial 24h Unlimited by male.

The IUF World Record Committee has confirmed the performance of Ken Looi (New Zealand) on his attempt of Time Trial 24h Unlimited as IUF World Record in compliance with the IUF World Record Guidelines and the current IUF Rulebook.

Ken in 24 hour period rode astonishing distance of 455.235 km.

It was Ken’s second attempt this year. More details on the attempt we can read on Ken’s personal blog. link

The previous record of 453.8 km had been held by Saw Wakeling (UK) since 2007.

We are pleased to announce the IUF World Record on Slow Balance Backward by female.

New record on Slow Balance Backward of 3min26.7s (or 206.7s) was performed by Ana Schrödinger (Germany) at CFM 2024 in Brumath, France at the 28th of October 2024.

We are pleased to announce the IUF World Record on Long Jump on Platform by male.

Since the rules has been changed in 2019, this is the first record claimed in this category by male.

World Record in Long Jump on Platform with result of 245 cm was performed by Johannes Baumkirchner (Austria) at Unicon20 in Grenoble, France at the 1st August 2022.

IUF World Records are set in compliance of the IUF World Record Guidelines

We are pleased to announce another two IUF World Records that have been set in year 2024.

The IUF World Record Committee has confirmed the performance of Gert-Jan De Vleeschouwer in Marathon Standard and the performance of Timo Hirschmann in 10 km Unlimited, both at CFM 2024 (Coupe de France de Monocycle), as IUF World Record in compliance with the IUF World Record Guidelines and the current IUF Rulebook.

Both athletes were already holding IUF World Records.

Gert-Jan De Vleeschouwer (Belgium), has sharpened owned by him record in Marathon Standard, from 1hr34min32s to 1hr32min19s.
Timo Hirschmann (Germany), holder of the IUF record on Marathon Unlimited from May 2024, has set a record in 10 km Unlimited with time 17min29s, with previous record holder Simon Jan (France) crossing the finish line just after his back. Past record time was 18min17s.

Both athletes has once again proved their unmatched skills. Congratullations!
