Events

The International Unicycling Federation would like to acknowledge various unicycling events to help grow the sport, communicate about events and harmonize events all over the world. To do so, IUF has created three levels of events:

  • Recognized events
  • Endorsed events
  • Sanctioned events

On acknowledgement of the event, the organizer receives rights to use IUF Event Badge corresponding to the level of acknowledgement.

Recognized events

Recognized events are competitive or non-competitive events. IUF recognises their contribution to the sport.

The host commitments: the host commits itself to host an event respectful of the values of our sport: respect, inclusivity, sharing. It also recognizes the necessity of ensuring the safety of all attendees.IUF commitments: the International Unicycling Federation commits itself to publicize the event through at least one social network publication. It also allows the host to use the IUF recognized event logo.

Endorsed events

Endorsed events are competitive national or international events. IUF recognizes their importance for our sport. It is typically a national competition, or an event awarding national titles.

The host commitments: the host commits itself to host an event respectful of the values of our sport: respect, inclusivity, sharing. It also respects the IUF rulebook as the enforced rules in the event. Should the host want to have rule deviations from the rulebook, such deviations should be documented and submitted to the IUF prior to the event.

Safety gear should at least respect IUF’s requirements according to the rulebook. No deviation will be allowed regarding safety gear, except if it requires more than the rulebook.

IUF commitments: The International Unicycling Federation commits itself to publicize the event with at least two social network publications (one for registration announcement, one after the event). It also allows the host to use the IUF endorsed event logo.

Sanctioned events

Sanctioned events are events co-organized between IUF and the host. A Memorandum of Understanding between all parties will explain the terms of that agreement. For example, Unicon, the Unicycling Convention and World Championship. Sanctioned events will strictly follow the IUF rulebook. Other commitments from both parties will be detailed in the Memorandum of Understanding.
