FAQ

Which Levels should I use?

The official skill levels are still the standard and should be used when in doubt, however these new skill levels can be used to help guide your own personal skill development and can be a helpful resource.

What’s wrong with the old Levels?

Research about unicycling revealed the problems with the old levels. The disadvantages outnumber the advantages by a far lead. Additionally the old levels have shown to deal more harm than help. See Thomas Gossmann’s talk at Unicon 16 analyzing the Skill Levels and the filtering the good parts.

Where can I get the new Levels tested?

Until they become official, these proposed skill levels are for personal development only and cannot be tested.

What needs to be done to make the Levels official?

In order for these skill levels to become official, they will need to be adopted and voted on by the IUF Rulebook Committee. Once that approved by a rulebook committee they could then be rolled out with updated training for IUF Skill Level Testers.
