Challenged to Ride

 Four years ago there was the German "Turnfest" took place Bochum, where lots of gymnastics clubs from all over Germamy showed their skills. As a part of this convention there were also some events in the town centre like music, comedy and so on. One day I saw a family performing some juggling and unicycling. At one point there was a girl with an unicycling jumping over a burning rope wich was swung by two other persons. After this performance was finished, the father offered all the money the family will get for that week, which was something like 2200 Dollars, for those person who could do the same. But no one said: Hey, I can do this !

At this point I knew I had to learn unicycling.!!

A few months later I saw an advertisment of a course to learn unicycling. So I took part in this course which was just for a weekend and it worked well. I was glad to be the only one of 12 people to ride the unicycle more than 60 m after. At this point I knew I would buy a unicycle. But it took a few months until I finally bought one. So i started more practicing and learned to free mount. But it was getting too cold outside to practice ( january), so I had too take again a break for a few months. One day I found a flyer at the university of people who were seeking people for their unicyling hockey team and I knewt hat i would join them. Besdes playing hockey i started to practice also artistics, basketball and cross unicycling. This is my little story how I started unicycling.
