I used to live in Germany and while there I learned to ride in the snow. I
just used my uni with the same old bald tire and only had minor problems.
Ice patches are a bit of a challange, but overall, snow is great fun on one
wheel. I don't think chains or insurance is required. As for other
advice. Be more aware of the other traffic, they often try so hard to be
aware of you they end up causing more problems.
