I've only ridden a giraffe twice (that's get on and ride twice, not two
sessions). I started from a tall fence, got my courage up and rode. I
fell off when I tried idling at the street, but was able to idle the
second time, ride down the street, turn around, and come back. The controlled
dismount was the hard part. I tried stepping off of the back, and ended up
on my back. Make sure you roll.

What I'm trying to say is riding a giraffe really isn't very hard. You'll
need to wait for better weather, though.

BTW, I tried riding a 40" uni at the NUC this year, but was to scared to
ride it properly enough to be successful. I was braver about riding the
giraffe.
